-30- ... 4/29/06

In the old days of newspapers, before computers, reporters put "-30-" to let the editors know that they'd reached the end of the story, because the way news stories are written, they often don't have clear beginnings, middle and endings.

All good things must come to an end. And so after just a few short months, I've decided to shut things down for now. Without getting into any drawn-out stories, I have come to the end of providing semi-regular running commentary on the camera.

I will leave the site up, and if people are able to find useful information on it, that's great.

I don't have anything more to add to my experiences with the camera. I feel that I've said about all that I can say. I continue to use the camera, although it shares time with a number of other cameras that I own, mostly Zeiss Ikons from the 1930s on up to the 1960s.

For the most part, I've settled on the Rollei-made f/2.8 40mm Sonnar as my walkaround lens with my second choice being the 25mm Biogon. The f/2.0 50mm Planar, a very fine lens, is often my third choice. Perhaps it has more to do with the 40mm being an almost ideal focal length.

At some point, I'm going to pick up the Rollei f/2.8 80mm Planar. If it's as good as the Sonnar, then I'll be highly pleased.

I'll certainly be busy behind the scenes, and I'll drop in occasionally to provide new information or updates. I have other parts of this site that require updates, particular my mini-reviews of the other cameras that I own.
