You might guess that I really like this camera. You would be absolutely correct. It's good to know that some camera makers are still willing to produce a high-quality camera that makes few compromises, comes packed with enough features to satisfy the advanced photographer and arrives in a packing dripping with the "wow" factor. When you hang this from your neck, you know it's not your average camera. It's heavy, but it feels good in your hands. The titanium case is both smooth and comfortable -- even in several very cold winter days of Beijing, when the temperatures dipped below freezing. The controls are exactly where you expect them. Changing settings is accurate and easy, and none of the knobs, buttons or dials feels loose or sloppy. This should never be the camera that you toss into a glove box, your car boot or a backpack. It's as much a piece of fine art as it is capable of producing fine art. With the simple push of a button or twist of the aperture ring, you can be as creative as you want. Or you can allow the camera to do all of the thinking. And it all comes delivered in an exquisite and luxurious camera that looks like none other on the market before or since. The photos its produces are sharp, crisp with exposure spot-on in most situations. Sure, you can do the same with other cameras but not with the same style. And you must acknowledge that style very much is part of this camera. You'll never have to make excuses for a Rollei QZ 35T/W. |
