Ilford FP4 Plus:
3/2/2006
1. Route 19 tree – I'm going to shoot this again, because it isn't what I wanted.
I love this tree with its twisted branches. With the 25, which is too wide,
even with the photo cropped. Next time, the 40mm Sonnar.
2. Pebbles on the path – Shot with the 25. Notice how natural the
photo appears. I thought the 25 did an excellent job of producing a photo
with nice tones and great detail.
3. Dead wood – Ilford FP4 is really a sweet film. Nice luminosity
in this shot. I think I was still shooting with the 25 at this point.
4. Bicycle stencil – Slapped the 25 on the body and went for a
walk. This is the first thing I saw that caught my eye.
5. The pathway to the Point – I was shooting at f/8, because I
remember I was shooting at f/8. Expansive depth of field with a 25mm lens.
6. Benches – I can't remember if I was shooting a vertical or
horizontal. Apparently somewhere in between. I was using the old-fashioned
hyperfocal distance method to determine aperture. But there was so much
depth of field that the zone of focus is well before and beyond my desired points.
7. Point path handrail – Once again AE at f/8, which put the
shutter speed at about 1/15.
8. Tree – I wanted to get the tree but not the buildings. The 25
proved to be a bit too wide. The sun was very bright and was off to the
right. You can see how it cuts down on contrast, which you would expect.
9. Droplets I – Shooting with the Rollei Sonnar wide open (f/2.8).
Sort of captured the droplet. Earlier in the morning, we had an ice storm.
But by the time I got my camera going, most of the ice had melted. I would
rather have photographed some of the ice-covered branches.
10. Droplets II – Again with the Rollei Sonnar wide open. Did a
better drop of recording the droplet. This is a very nice lens, and it fits
nicely between the 25 and 50.
