1. Ryan – An impromptu portrait on my nephew, Ryan, with the 25mm
Biogon. I was very pleased with this shot. By the way, he's drinking
Mountain Dew – might actually be worse than beer.
2. Muddy driveway and Felix – The 25mm Biogon – might shoot with
the Planar, if I get another chance. The dog is a stray that showed up at
the door as a puppy with another stray. The older dog wouldn't leave until
the owners took the pup inside. Great dog – a real pack beast. He hates when
visitors leave. If you look at the hills above the dog, you can see what
appears to be chromatic aberration. I believe that what you see is a product
of the scan, because it's not visible in the prints that I received.
3. The hay barn – I dialed in +2/3 compensation when I shot with
the 25mm Biogon.
4.-5. Car, hillside and farm equipment – Once again, two takes on
the same subject. I believe both are with the 25mm Biogon. I prefer the
second shot. You can see some light falloff. I think the light falloff is exacerbated by
underexposure of the scene. I like the effect, nonetheless.
6. Mail Pouch tobacco – This is one of two shots I want to reshoot
when it's not raining cats and dogs (for those who don't speak English, it means
it is raining extremely hard).
Shot with the 25mm Biogon and then cropped it. I'd be tempted to try this
with a Contax rangefinder with the f/4.0 135mm Sonnar.
7. New Freeport Baptist church – I also want to reshoot when the
weather permits. The scanning process has added a noticeable moire to the
second-story shutters. This was with the 25mm Biogon, and it's also been
cropped. I would love to shoot this with black and white on 4x5.
8. Shed door – Possibly with the 50mm Planar, but I really don't
remember, as I was switching lenses frequently. Now that I look at it, could
be the 25mm Biogon.
9. Beer – Nothing better than a couple of beers and the 25mm
Biogon. Actually, I rarely drink these days and haven't had a beer for about
four years. I don't have any "problems" – I just gave it up.
10. Citation – Long story behind this, but it's a citation from
the Pennsylvania Game Commission. This is for the guy who owns the property
with his brother (name has been altered – only change to the photo). I shot
this inside by the light of the room with the 25mm Biogon, wide open at
about 1/15 second, if I recall. By the way, the guys were cigar smokers,
nothing else.
